Celebrating Dad

This Sunday is Father’s Day, a holiday which honors fathers worldwide.  It originated in the United States in 1910, a few years after the country began celebrating Mother’s Day. Father’s Day became an official U.S. holiday in 1972.  Traditionally, Father’s Day is a time for barbeques, backyard fun, and being together as a family.

The Delaware County District Library honors fathers all year round, with a wonderful collection of books written by and for dads.  This weekend may be the perfect time to check out some of these books, to share with your dad or for dads to share with their children.
