Special Program with Local and Nationally Known Author Dr. Leslie Noyes Mass

I hope you will plan to join us for a very special program featuring local and nationally know author Dr. Leslie Noyes Mass who will be discussing her new book, Back to Pakistan: A Fifty-Year Journey, to be released in September.

Author, educator and Peace Corps volunteer, Dr. Mass will talk about her experience visiting a small village in Pakistan that she could not forget and that did not forget her.  The presentation will include a talk and a photo journey of her travels.   Dr. Mass began her teaching career in a small village in Pakistan as a Peace Corps volunteer in 1962. Nearly 50 years later, she revisits the country as a 68-year-old volunteer for the Citizens Foundation, a nongovernmental organization that builds schools in the country’s poorest areas.

The program will be offered at the Library’s Orange Branch, 7171 Gooding Boulevard on Wednesday, August 17, and again at the Delaware (Main) Library, 84 E. Winter on Thursday, August 18.  Both programs will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Dr. Mass has also written She Walks in Beauty: Hiking the Appalachian Trail at 60 and is a resident of Delaware County.

I hope you plan to attend either (or both!) of these programs to hear about Dr. Mass’ life-changing experience.

I appreciate Dr Mass’s dedication and commitment towards uplifting the status of education in under privileged areas of Pakistan. Currently I am getting a hook on her book, and also wanted to offer her the invite to come to Pakistan. At this university where I am studying, we invite dedicated and strong-minded people to give a lecture.
I would really appreciate if you or anyone could forward me her contacts so I can forward to the Head of Department, Education program at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan.

    Thanks and best regards!
