The Board of Trustees and the staff of the Delaware County District Library wish you a very happy Thanksgiving!
If you need recipes, instructions for games, a good book to read, or a movie to share with your family and guests, the Library will be open its regular hours on Tuesday, November 22. We will be closing at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23rd, and of course, we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day so our staff can enjoy time with their families, too.
We will be open on “Black Friday,” so if shopping isn’t in your plans, why not stop by to enjoy the Library experience–a calm place to read, Internet computers to use, books, magazines and newspapers to browse, librarians to answer questions, and staff to provide excellent customer service!
What could be more inviting on a chilly November day that sitting down with a good read and a hot cup of coffee? Did you know that the Delaware County District Library has coffee shops in two of its locations? And did you know that you can bring a cup of coffee or any other beverage in a closed container into the Library to sip while you work or relax?
The Main Library’s coffee shop, Coffee, Tea and Energy, offers a variety of flavored coffees, teas, and hot chocolate, along with unique items, such as Buckeye jewelry, doll clothes, and seasonal gifts. The Delaware County Genealogical Society’s publications are also available for you to buy.
At the Orange Branch, stop by JavaBox Gourmet Cafe to enjoy a specialty coffee drink, hot tea, hot chocolate, or a homemade pastry for a snack. Or try the recently introduced SHOOPDAWOO, a fresh toasted tortilla with melted Nutella inside. You can find out what specials are featured at JavaBox by “liking” them on Facebook, too.
Both coffee shops have inviting and comfortable seating areas for your convenience, and you can hop on the Library’s Wi-Fi to catch up on your emails or surf the Internet while you’re enjoying one of their tasty treats.
Please plan on stopping by these coffee shops soon, to buy a great cup of coffee, something delicious to eat, and maybe even get some holiday shopping done! I think having coffee shops only makes coming to the Library that much more enjoyable, and I hope you do too.
