You may stop by the Delaware County District Library on a Friday and notice that many of the Library staff are dressed very casually–jeans, slacks, and so forth. Please don’t think that we are relaxing our standards or modifying our dress code. We believe strongly that you should be served by staff dressed professionally and appropriately for a library setting.
Recently, however, the staff initiated the “Casual For a Cause: DCDL Gives Back” campaign, and in exchange for a donation to a local charity, staff can dress down on the last payday of every month. Each month, the staff chooses a nonprofit agency to support in this endeavor, and we have collected a significant amount of money for local organizations such as People In Need and the Humane Society of Delaware County.
Library staff is proud to live and work in Delaware County, and we believe it is important to give back whenever we can. “Casual With A Cause” is one easy way for us to do that. While our dress may be casual, our level of customer service is still professionally excellent.
