Looking for something to do this week?

The Delaware County District Library has a line up of programs at the Delaware (Main), Ostrander, Powell and Orange Branches this week that will appeal to all ages.

Today (April 10) at the Ostrander Branch, your kids can learn how to be superheroes at “SuperHeroes Training Camp”  family program beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Attendees will have an opportunity to earn their superhero badge while learning what super powers they have.

At the Child and Parent Book Discussion at the Orange Branch today at 6:30 p.m., you can read Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh by Robert C. O’Brien together and find out what is so strange about the rats living under the rosebush at the Fitzgibbon farm.  For 4-5 graders.

For second and third graders, you can read Titanic Sinks! by Barry Denenberg together at the Powell Branch today at 6:30 p.m., and then join us for related crafts and discussion.

At the Delaware Main Library today, the American Girl Book Club will meet at 7:00 p.m.  You can bring your doll, too, so she doesn’t miss out on the fun! This month we’ll read Meet Samantha. Samantha is a nine-year-old orphan who lives with her wealthy grandmother in 1904.  Preregistration is required to attend but there are still openings.

On April 11 at the Ostrander Branch at 4:00 p.m., you’re invited to explore the world of sports through books, games, and art activities during this after school program.  Also tomorrow, the Anime Club meets at the Delaware Main Library at 4:00 p.m. to talk and watch your favorite programs.  This month we feature FLCL.

The Lego Club meets tomorrow evening at the Orange Branch at 6:30 p.m. to work together to create a creepy, crawly creation.  Preregistration is required.

Tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Ostrander Branch, adults are invited to attend a program featuring advice and gardening tips from local master gardeners–just in time for spring planting.

Two Saturday morning programs offer a great alternative to Saturday cartoons.  Beginning at 10:00 a.m., children can venture into the Hundred Acre Wood and enjoy a picnic with everyone’s favorite lovable bear and his friends, at a “Winnie the Pooh Picnic” at the Powell Branch.   And at the Ostrander Branch from 11:00-12:30, the Kids Cook Club will tackle Italian cuisine, and make a simple Italian dish to share.  Preregistration is required to attend the Kids Cook Club.

For more information on all of these  programs plus the dozens of others offered by the Library throughout the month of April, visit our web site and check out the Events calendar.
